The Evolution of Cadence

Most people know Mongoose as higher ed’s premiere texting platform, aka Cadence. However, as industry trends evolve and schools seek efficiency and all-in-one solutions, we knew that we also had to elevate our products to continue providing much needed support and value to the higher ed industry. 

At Mongoose, we continually develop new products and features that equip our clients with more ways to engage with their audiences effectively, and we base those developments on the feedback we hear from the 750+ institutions we work with.

Texting continues to be successful for institutions to build relationships with their audiences, but we’ve realized that to truly foster engagement, institutions as well as our products need to include the website experience also.  

And with that, Cadence has evolved into a true engagement platform for clients to expand their abilities to provide support and nurture relationships with their audiences in all the ways they want to communicate.

Blast From The Past

Before we take off into what Cadence is today, it’s important to remember where we started.  Back in 2009, we developed a texting platform for colleges and universities that were struggling to reach students who no longer answered phone calls or emails. 

In our first step to enter the web space, we offered Harmony, which allowed us to provide chat services to our clients via a technology provider, Drift. The product worked and the success of our Harmony clients reinforced the fact that schools need to improve their website experience for visitors. We saw room for improvement and quickly put in the work to build a new solution within our Cadence platform. 

As a result, we are excited to now offer Cadence Chat, which features both live chat and chatbot capabilities exclusively designed for the higher ed website experience.

With the addition of chat built into the Cadence platform, it truly has become an engagement platform.
